Description
ASU Mid-South provides testing services for those planning to become Mid-South students and for students of other colleges who need an official testing center.
Register for Accuplacer exams using the Register button. Accuplacer is used to help colleges determine course placement. This is an alternative to the ACT or SAT exam. Accuplacer is NOT timed so students can take the time they need to complete the test. Many students take about 30 minutes per exam, but plan for longer so you're not rushed!
Test-takers should arrive 15 minutes before the testing time and will need to show a photo ID and proof of payment.
Testing times are offered Monday – Thursday.

- What is Accuplacer?
The ACCUPLACER exam is a computer adaptive college placement test used by Arkansas State University Mid-South to evaluate incoming student’s skill levels in reading, writing, and mathematics. These scores can also be used to place students in courses appropriate to their skill levels.
ASU Mid-South accepts ACCUPLACER scores for general admission purposes. High school students may also take the exam to establish eligibility for enrollment in concurrent high school courses.
- How many times can I take the Accuplacer exam?
Examinees may take each section of the ACCUPLACER once per day but no more than three times in a 30-day period. It is recommended that test takers wait two weeks between an initial test and the retest. Test takers are encouraged to use the two week period for study and review of test content areas in which they did not obtain a passing score.
- How can I prepare for the Accuplacer Exam?

To improve your Reading score, choose Reading Sample Questions.
To improve your English score, choose Writing Sample Questions.
To improve your Math score, choose Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics Sample Questions.
- How much does the Accuplacer cost?
The Testing Center requires payment of the following fees prior to the administration of any exam:
ACCUPLACER Exam – $15.00
The exam fee must be paid by credit card or debit card through PayPal.
Confirmation or receipt should be brought to the test as proof of payment.
- Are testing accommodations available if needed?
If accommodations are needed, please make a note about those accommodations in the “Additional Information” box.
If documentation isn't already on file at ASU Mid-South, someone from Mid-South will reach out to ask about the medical documentation.
Please note: The Accuplacer is untimed. Test takers may take the time they need.
- Can I cancel or reschedule my exam?
Yes! The confirmation email will provide a link to cancel or reschedule!
- Where should I go to take my exam?
All exams are given at Arkansas State University Mid-South. The confirmation email will provide you with building and room location! Campus Map
- What should I bring when I take the exam?
- A photo ID.
- Pencil.
- Your payment confirmation.
- Your phone will be collected while you test. All other items should be left in the car or at home.
